Monk. the quirky comedy about an obsessive compulsive detective, starring Tony Shaloub, celebrates 100 episodes of comedy along on USA Cable Television on Friday nights.

Monk, starring Tony Shaloub, aired its 100th episode of comedy on September 5 on the USA Network on cable television. In the landmark episode, a news magazine was covering Mr. Monk's handling of a serial killer case he solved. As the whole gang gathered to watch the program on television, the famous detective became unsettled because he realized that something about the case was not right.

Special Guest Stars

The 100th episode featured appearance's by some of the show's favorite guest stars from the past. Guest stars included John Turturro, Eric McCormack, Howie Mandel, Sharon Lawrence, Sarah Silverman, Andy Richter, Angela Kinsey and Brooke Adams.

100th Episode

In the 100th episode, news magazine, " In Focus," presented a television program about Mr. Monk, a "modern day Sherlock Holmes." The format allowed interviews with characters who knew the famous obsessive compulsive detective from past cases. The 100th Episode was able to bring back favorite characters from past episodes, including criminals that aired from their prison cells.

Detective Monk a Brilliant Sleuth

Monk is a brilliant comedy set in San Francisco. Adrian Monk, who has obsessive compulsive disorder, was let go from the San Francisco Police Department when his wife was killed by a car bomb and he stopped functioning. Monk has superior powers of observations, so his former boss continues to call on him for tough cases.

Characters of Monk

  • Tony Shaloub as Adrian Monk. Mr. Monk is a brilliant sleuth who was left shattered and broken when his beloved wife, Trudy, was killed. Monk's phobias inc include germs heights, crowds, cracks in the sidewalk and uneven numbers. Even though Monk was kicked off SFPD when he stopped functioning, his gift for crime scene analysis is still valued by the police department. Monk, along with his devoted assistant, Natalie, works as a consultant and private detective. Meanwhile, he dreams of the day he can get his badge back.
  • Traylor Howard as Natalie Teeger. Natalie is Monk's devoted personal assistant and friend. She is a strong single mother who knows when to be tough with her boss, who often needs a push. Natalie is a widow, so she shares a special bond with Monk. Although she is from a wealthy family, Natalie supports herself and her daughter on her own.
  • Ted Levine as Captain Leland Stottlemeyer. The Caption is Monk's longtime friend and former partner and boss. When Monk's obsessive compulsive disorder became dangerous, the captain had to let him go. Leland still calls on Monk for the toughest cases.
  • Jason Gray-Stanford as Lieutenant Randall Disher. Lt. Disher is Captain Stottlemeyer's right hand man. Randy is a faithful, but often bumbling, "Boy Friday."
  • Emmy Clarks as Julie Teeger. Julie is the teen aged daughter of Natalie.
  • Hector Elizondo as Dr. Neven Bell. Dr. Bell became Mr. Monk's therapist after Dr. Kroger passed away.
  • Stanley Kamel as Dr. Charles Kroger. Dr. Kroger was Monk's longtime therapist.
  • Bitty Schram as Sharona Fleming is Monk' former personal assistant and nurse, who moved away to New Jersey when she remarried her ex husband.

The season finale of Monk airs on Friday September 12, 2008, on the USA Network.
