Stan Takes a Stand Against the Japanese

When the Japanese start killing the entire world's dolphin and whale population, Stan decides to take action. Whale whores is a gruesome episode with a funny punch line.

South Park is at it again, this time they are taking on the reality television show Whale Wars. Stan has had enough of the Japanese killing dolphins and whales and decides to do something about it. So being the political activist that he is, he decides to join the Whale Wars cast and put a stop to the Japanese.

Whale Wars Gets Ousted

Stan tries to enlist the help of Cartman, Kyle and Kenny to stop the Japanese, but they could care less. So when Stan joins the cast of Whale Wars he finds out they are nothing more than “incompetent vegan pussies doing absolutely nothing and trying to turn it into drama.”

Stan takes action and starts taking down Japanese boats one by one in a montage. The montage is accompanied by Cartman singing Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.” Cartman’s song seemed very out of place with the rest of the episode. It was funny hearing Cartman sing a Lady Gaga song (better than she does by the way), but it seemed more like something Family Guy would do rather than South Park.

After stopping the Japanese, Stan’s show receives a ratings boost, and everyone praises him. However, they are asking him all about what motivated him to make a hit TV show rather than actually stopping the Japanese from killing whales.

Again, South Park makes everyone but Stan appear ignorant and stupid. They are all questioning Stan’s motives to get a hit TV show when in reality Stan just wanted to help save the whales. Of course, once Stan’s TV show is a hit, Cartman and Kenny have a sudden love for whales and dolphins.

Deadliest Catch Joins the Fray

During one of Stan’s attempts to stop the Japanese, the cast from the TV show Deadliest Catch stop Stan. They are upset because Stan’s show is taking viewers away from their show.

South Park makes an interesting point about shows like Whale Wars and Deadliest Catch. The people that create these shows want to inform the rest of the world of what they are doing.

That’s great, but the problem is after a few seasons, the people care more about the ratings of the show rather than the reason they created the show in the first place. They turn into “media whores” and will do anything to create drama when there is no drama at all.

Dolphins and Whales Were Scammed

Stan, Cartman and Kenny eventually find out why the Japanese hate dolphins and whales so much. The Japanese were given a photo by the Americans showing a dolphin and a whale bombing Hiroshima during World War II.

So Stan asks Kyle to doctor the photo to show a chicken and a cow bombing Hiroshima. The Japanese then go on to slaughter all of the cows and chickens in the world. Stan’s dad congratulates his son saying “now the Japanese are normal, like us.”

South Park is on a rampage. Three out of the last four episodes have poked fun at American entertainment in one way or another. South Park has always been one to make fun of pop culture, but never have they made fun of so many things right in a row like this.

This could just be a momentary lapse in common South Park episodes, but as long as they keep making them funny, people will keep watching them.
