Psych returns on January 9, 2009, with an all new episode with the fake psychics on the case of a murdered sea lion starring James Roday, Dule HIll and Corbin Bernsen.

Psych, USA Network’s hit original series starring James Roday Dulé Hill and Corbin Bernsen”), will return with the continuation of its third season with all new cases on USA Network on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 10/9c. Guest stars include Cybil Shepherd, Rachael Leigh Cook, Mykelti Williamson & Jonathan Silverman

Six Feet Under the Sea

In the first episode written and directed by Steve Franks called “Six Feet Under The Sea,” Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dule Hill) are called in to solve the case when Shabby the Sea Lion is found dead after being released into the wild, Shawn sets out to prove it was murder and stumbles onto a bigger conspiracy.

Psychic Detectives

A quick-witted drama, Psych follow the adventures of young police consultant, Shawn Spencer (Roday), who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute the precinct detectives think he's psychic – at least that’s what he lets them believe. Spencer is joined by his best friend and reluctant sidekick, Gus, and his disapproving father (Corbin Bernsen), who ironically was the one who honed his son's "observation" skills as a child.

Shawn was brought up by his police detective father after his mother (Cybil Shepherd) left them. Bernsen portrays a retired detective who trained his son to have acute observation skills. Lacking the discipline to become a police detective himself, Shawn opens up a psychic detective office, pretending to solve cases through psychic powers, when he is actually using his skills of detecting the details that do not fit.

Henry Spencer is contemptuous about his son’s business venture as a psychic detective, as he believed that Shawn is squandering his enormous talents. When Shawn ropes his father into helping with a case the results can be hilarious.

Gus and Shawn have been friends since childhood. Gus is a level headed guy but gets intrigued with the excitement that Shawn and the psychic detective cases bring to life.

The third season continues with guest-stars including Cybill Shepherd ("Cybill," "The L Word"), Rachael Leigh Cook ("She's All That," "The Babysitter's Club"), Mykelti Williamson ("August Rush," "Lucky Number Slevin") and Jonathan Silverman ("The Single Guy," "Weekend At Bernies").
