The Canadian sitcom Corner Gas was a huge hit beginning with its premiere in 2004. Its first season contains 13 episodes, most of which were written by the show's creator, comedian Brent Butt. Corner Gas follows the daily lives of residents of the small town of Dog River, Saskatchewan, focusing on the gas station (the titular Corner Gas) and the diner The Ruby. Corner Gas Episode Guide: Season 1 Episode 1: Ruby RebornWhen Toronto native Lacey Burrows (Gabrielle Miller) arrives in Dog River to take over her late aunt's diner, she discovers that Dog River natives don't readily accept outsiders or change. Meanwhile, Brent Leroy's (Brent Butt) plan to rent movies out of the gas station meets with severe opposition from his father, former Corner Gas owner Oscar Leroy (Eric Peterson). Episode 2: Tax ManWhen a tax man (Kevin McDonald) tries to audit Corner Gas, Oscar and Hank come up with increasingly ridiculous plans to stop him. Meanwhile, Davis (Lorne Cardinal) is upset because Lacey no longer gives him and Karen (Tara Spencer-Nairn) free coffee. Episode 3: Pilates TwistLacey decides that a Pilates class will remind her of Toronto, but runs into trouble when everyone in Dog River confuses Pilates with "the guy who killed Jesus." Meanwhile, Oscar decides to build his own coffin. Episode 4: Oh Baby!When Wanda (Nancy Robertson) has to go to the dentist, Brent gets stuck babysitting her infamous son Tanner. Having been scarred in the past by Tanner, the others take bets about how he will get injured. Meanwhile, Oscar has some trouble watching the gas station while Brent is gone. Episode 5: Grad '68When Karen starts digging through cold cases, she uncovers the mystery of who spray-painted "Grad '68" on the Dog River water tower. Meanwhile, Lacey raises havoc by changing the bathroom signs and attempting to write for the Dog River Howler. Episode 6: World's Biggest ThingWhen Mayor Fitzy (Cavan Cunningham) wants to attract more tourists to Dog River, he takes Hank's (Fred Ewaniuck) suggestion of building the World's Biggest Something. Unfortunately, Fitzy's Grandma (Jean Freeman) suggests that they build the World's Biggest Hoe, and no one can bear to tell her what's wrong with the idea. Meanwhile, Oscar becomes convinced that Lacey has a crush on him. Episode 7: All My ExesWhen Lacey's ex-fiancé comes to town, Hank starts a rumor that he's an obsessed stalker, leading to his arrest by David and Karen. Meanwhile, Emma tries to get Oscar to see a doctor. Episode 8: Cousin CarlWhen Brent's cousin Carl visits Dog River, Brent tries to convince everyone how much of a jerk Carl really is. He gets his chance when Dog River has a talent show, for which Hank tires to prepare a magic act. Meanwhile, Oscar boycotts the liquor store because Wes (Mike O'Brien) won't give him his bottle deposit. Episode 9: Cell PhoneWhen Davis gets jealous of Brent's smaller cell phone, they start competing to see who can have the smallest phone. Meanwhile, Lacey tries to get into the Chamber of Commerce by getting the grain elevator declared as an historic site, and Oscar becomes addicted to winning stuffed animals from the bar's new claw machine. Episode 10: Comedy NightWhen Lacey tries to start a book club, Brent joins and turns the club's focus away from The Life of Pi and towards James Bond and Rambo. Meanwhile, Lacey saves the day when Brent wants revenge on a comedian who stole his funny story. Episode 11: Hook, Line, and SinkerWhen Karen goes on a fishing trip with Hank, she discovers that he's a different person when he's fishing, prompting the rest of the town to believe they slept together. Meanwhile, Brent and Lacey fight over the wording on a new road sign, and Brent and Emma try to make Oscar think he's losing his memory. Episode 12: Face OffWhen Brent considers joining a rival hockey team, the Dog River River Dogs offer him a deal to get him back. Realizing that the team doesn't have a coach, Lacey offers to coach them to a victory. Meanwhile, Oscar and Emma fight over the sorry state of their car. Episode 13: I Love LaceyWhen the group splits up to go see the Grey Cup, each pair manages to get into trouble. Brent and Lacey get lost and discover their feelings for each other, Emma and Wanda start a fight at the dollar store, Oscar and Hank visit an old friend of Oscars and wind up getting arrested, and Davis and Karen forget their tickets and try to buy new tickets from a scalper who's actually an undercover police officer.
