It's Only in Your Head Dramatic Conclusion to Dark Comedy

Desperate Housewives It's Only In Your Head was the season five finale of the soap opera like dark comedy about the lovely ladies and handsome men of Wisteria Lane.

Desperate Housewives broadcast their season five finale, with storylines for every character, on May 17. Series stars Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria Parker, Felicity Huffman, Dana Delany and Marcia Cross each endured their trials and tribulations while looking gorgeous.

Desperate Housewives Multiple Plotlines

In the season finale, some storylines seemed to be concluded, while other storylines were introduced. As the season took its bow, Lynette (Felicity Huffman) was pregnant with twins while Tom (Doug Savant) went back to college; Gaby (Eva Longoria Parker) took in Carlos’ (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) troublemaking niece; Bree (Marcia Cross) tried to divorce Orson(Kyle MacLachlan )and kissed her lawyer; and Mike and Katherine made wedding plans.

Dave Williams Seeks Revenge

The most intriguing plotline was the continuing story of Dave Williams, aka Dave Dash, who has been making trouble on Wisteria Lane all season, under the guise of being the perfect neighbor. Dave entered the picture when he married Evie (Nicolette Sheridan) and the couple moved back to Wisteria Lane after Evie had moved away. Viewers soon learned that Dave had an ulterior motive, but the reason unfolded over the season.

Dave moved to Wisteria Lane to get close to Mike Delfino to get revenge for a car accident in which Dave’s wife and daughter had died. Dave had been diagnosed as criminally insane, stopped taking his meds and killed his psychiatrist when confronted. The Desperate Housewives season finale used a combination of flashbacks to explain the state of Dave’s mind. It seems Dave was a good father and husband who went over the deep end when he lost his family in a car accident with Mike and Susan Delfino.

Dave managed to get Susan and MJ alone in a car on a deserted country road, when a phone call from Mike alerted Susan to the danger, leading to a bungled escape by Susan. Dave almost succeeded in his plot to kill the MJ, the son of Mike and Lynette, but a vision of his daughter prevented the dastardly deed,

As MJ was expelled from the car, Mike arrived on the scene and swept the weeping Susan into his arms.

Dave ended up in a mental institution, so that may be it for character, but maybe not. People have a way of coming back to Wisteria Lane.

The finale scene of the episode was in a big church, at a wedding ceremony. Mike was the groom, but the bride was all dressed in white and obscured by a veil, so the viewer will not know if Mike was marrying Katherine or remarrying Susan.. The marriage will be a mystery until season six airs in fall.

Desperate Housewives will return with new episodes this fall on ABC. Repeats air on On Demand Cable.
